The Central Okanagan is in the “interior” of British Columbia, Canada. Cities in this region include Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland, Lake Country, and Vernon. Maybe we’re a little biased, but it’s the most beautiful place on Earth. We are a 4 hour drive east from Vancouver through breathtaking scenery, over the Coquihalla Highway and onto the Connector OR drive 90-minutes north of the US border from the Osoyoos, BC-Oroville, WA crossing.

The Kelowna International Airport serves the Central Okanagan region and welcomes guests from all over the world, offering over 60 daily non-stop commercial to destinations in Canada and some international destinations with flights to the US through Seattle (year round) and Los Angeles (in the winter months).

The City of Kelowna sits on the traditional ancestral and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan people, upon whose ancestral lands we are all grateful to live, work, and gather.

The Okanagan climate is mild with 4 distinct seasons and known for gorgeous stone fruit and vineyards. Not surprisingly, the food, wine and cider culture is strong. In 2025, Kelowna was named as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and in 2026 Kelowna was named as one of the top 15 cities in the world as a destination for excellent food Eater.com.

In addition to tourism and agriculture, Kelowna is home to two institutions of higher education (UBC-Okanagan and Okanagan College with campuses in Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Salmon Arm). Kelowna General Hospital and Vernon Jubilee Hospital are the two largest hospitals in the Central Okanagan region.
