An excellent place to start is registration with BC Health Match. This province-wide group offers support with credentialing, information seminars, and connection to employers.
BC is served by 5 regional health authorities - the Central Okanagan is served by Interior Health, which is the publicly funded arm of the health system that operates hospitals, health units, mental health and addictions care, residential facilities.
Interior Health is where most healthcare jobs will be listed for the Central Okanagan region.
Interior Health values diversity and has, for example, gone through a process to meet the standards for a Rainbow Registered employer.
Other Employers
Specialized services, such as cancer care, pain clinics, women’s health, pediatric care, gender affirming care, transplant, and other specialty care is offered through the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). Open healthcare career opportunities are listed on their site (select “Kelowna” or “Vernon” for jobs in this region).
Family Practice Physicians and NPs will find resources, connections, and job postings through the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice.
The Province of BC is actively streamlining credentialing and steps toward immigration.
