Household Goods and Cookware

For cookware, Canadian Tire or the Real Canadian Superstore (locally known as simply the Superstore) are good places to start and have stores in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

Canadian Tire offers a wide array of goods including housewares, small appliances, cookware, garden, patio, cleaning supplies, camping and sporting goods, basic hardware, pet supplies and more! In keeping with their name, Canadian Tire is of course also a place with automotive services and repairs. Canadian Tire is your most likely destination for a car inspection if you import a vehicle.

The Superstore offers groceries, housewares, pharmacy, giftwrap and cards, household supplies (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, vitamins), clothing, and more!

Pharmacy - Drug Stores

There are a few large chain pharmacies in the region Shopper’s Drug Mart, London Drug, Pharmasave are the main ones with stores in Kelowna, West Kelowna. In addition to a pharmacy, they have an array of cosmetics, toiletries, vitamins, over-the-counter medications, and basic grocery items. London Drug also has a fairly large electronics department and kitchenware. Walmart, the Super Store, Save On and other chain stores often also have a dispensing pharmacy. There are a number of independent pharmacies in the area as well and those are often very well rated through customer reviews.

Canada Post Offices. There are a number of Canada Post counters throughout Kelowna. They are often INSIDE another retail operation and not free-standing post offices. For example, Canada Post counters are in Pharmasave (Airport Village, Kelowna), Shoppers Drug Mart (Orchard Park Mall, Kelowna | West Bank Towne Centre ) and London Drug (West Kelowna), Petro-Canada (Peachland).

Grocery

• Save On Foods (🇨🇦 Canadian-owned) is one of the larger, average cost grocery stores. There are several Save On stores in Kelowna and one in West Kelowna. Save On also operates Urban Fare (Kelowna) and Nestor’s Market (Kelowna and West Kelowna).
• Real Canadian Superstore (🇨🇦 Canadian-owned) (usually known just as Superstore) - this is a very big box Canadian grocery store that has everything - groceries, fresh produce, deli, an extensive freezer section, a JoeFresh clothing boutique, as well as homegoods, small appliances and other home supplies. Everything is yellow, and they have a very extensive store brand called No Name that is really affordable.
• There are a variety of other neighbourhood markets and specialty food stores scattered throughout the region. Have fun exploring and finding your favourite spots and sources for food items!
• In this area, fresh produce, locally sourced meats, cheeses, jams, pickles, and etc are widely available! Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is year-round in the Landmark District (summer) and Parkinson Recreation Centre (winter)
• Throughout the summer months, be sure to visit the many farm and fruit stands and local farm markets. Many of these are small, family-owned and operated stands at the end of the driveway. A few larger local markets to start with are: KLO Farm Market (Kelowna) and Paynter’s Fruit Market (West Kelowna).
• There’s also a Walmart (Kelowna and West Kelowna) and Costco (Kelowna) in town, but are 🇺🇸 American-owned.

Easy Meal Pick Up, Online Food Shopping, and Food Delivery

Save On Foods(🇨🇦 Canadian-owned) has the largest grocery order & delivery service.

For prepared meals - M&M meats (🇨🇦 Canadian-owned) and Ready-to-Cook (🇨🇦 Canadian-owned & local to Kelowna) both have multiple locations and sell packaged, prepared meals like lasagne, perogies, cabbage rolls, butter chicken, meatloaf, etc. In West Kelowna, the Okanagan Pasta Company (🇨🇦 Canadian-owned & local) offers fresh pasta, sauces, frozen cookies (amazing), and some premade frozen meals (lasagna, canneloni) and you’ll immediately become friends with the owners, who are lovely!

You can call most restaurants directly to order Take Away meals, some restaurants have their own delivery service, and the area is also served by Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes, and DoorDash.
