Each province has a process of registration (akin to state licensure) and will evaluate your credentials. For nurses, see the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. For Physicians see the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. For most Allied Health Professionals, see College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. Generally speaking, the first step in coming to Canada is to secure a job offer. After that, you’ll work with your employer to help you through the immigration process.

  1. Interior Health: For hospital and healthcare positions, monitor Interior Health Careers and enter your profession! Sign up for the Interior Health Newsletter for email announcements of new openings.
  2. Paramedics and 911 operators: BCEHS has openings and require an EMR license (2 week course) and a Class 4 driver's license. Reach out to [email protected] for info.
  3. Allied Health positions may also be listed elsewhere including Central Okanagan School District, Indeed-Kelowna, BC Health Careers - Allied Health, non-profit organizations, and discipline-specific professional organizations, such as Speech and Hearing BC.
